FC Art Student Selected as a Finalist in Nationwide/International Art Competition!
It is with great pride and excitement that Fountain Central High School announces that one of our art students, Rachel Lewis, has placed in the top 45 finalist in a nationwide/international art competition. This was the school's first year to compete in this particular competition. 4 students were selected to submit entries and Rachel was the only student who accepted the challenge. The foundations focus is on Unsung Heros in history. The artist are asked to choose from a large list of Unsung Heros, to research their roles in history and to create an artwork highlighting the hero in a unique art piece based on their research. Rachel chose Sheyann Webb and her role in the Selma March. Students were also asked to submit an essay about their hero. Click the image below of Rachel's art work to go to the website for the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes and learn more about the competition and view the artwork! |
