Fountain County 4-H Enrollment
It’s here! 4-H enrollment has officially started for the 2020 fair year, and we want you to be a
part of it!
This year, Fountain County's 4-H program is under new 4-H Educators and this means that we
have some exciting new things happening in our county! Our program is on the rise, and we are
looking for kids just like yours to join today.
Getting enrolled is simple! Just sign up using the link below, and watch as your child becomes
part of a life changing organization. The 4-H program prides itself on teaching your child
responsibility and hard work while also building and contributing to our community. All of this
is in addition to the memories and lasting friendships your child will make along the way.
So which 4-H program is right for your kiddo? Fountain County Mighty Mini 4-H is open to all
kids currently enrolled in 1st & 2nd grades. Regular 4-H is open to all kids currently enrolled in 3 rd
thru 12th grades. We offer over 50 different projects for kids to choose from ranging from model
rockets and cake decorating to legos and arts and crafts. With a wide array of projects there is
literally something for everyone, and we at the Extension Office (765-793-6240) would be happy
to go through all the projects that we offer to see what is the best fit for your kiddo.
If you are interested in joining or rejoining Fountain County 4-H or Mighty Mini 4-H then you
will need to sign up through www.4honline.com. If you need assistance setting up a new
family profile or if you lost your old password, please either call the Extension Office or email
Laura (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will be happy to assist you through this process! Want to
make your 4-H enrollment even more fun? Have your child grab a friend to sign up with and
watch them discover together what Fountain County 4-H is all about!
Read n Quiz
This year, grades 3-6 will continue to use a reading incentive program called Read N Quiz. Students will be able to read a library book and take a quiz over the book, which helps increase comprehension. Teachers will be offering small rewards within their classrooms for quizzes taken. Each 9 weeks we will continue to do a schoolwide reward for quizzes taken. Students are expected to read 2 books at their level, and pass two quizzes based on those books, in order to qualify for the reward. The end of the 9 weeks is the last day to qualify for the reward, and this nine weeks ends October 4. The date for the reward is October 14 from 1-3. Please encourage your student to read and take their quizzes so that they can participate in this fun filled afternoon. We thank you for supporting and encouraging reading.

Just a reminder if you plan on bringing birthday treats for your student's class, all treats need to be at the school by noon on the day they will be served. If treats arrive after noon, they will be served the following school day. We have lots of students with food allergies and other serious medical conditions and treats must be checked by our school nurse to make sure we keep all of our students safe.
Due to the increase in food allergies and other serious medical conditions, all treats and snacks will be supplied by our staff this year for our holiday celebrations. These celebrations include Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. Treats brought in by parents will not be served at our holiday celebrations due to the limited amount of time we have on those days to check the vast amount of treats that have been sent in the past.
"Eventlink" Athletic/Activities Calendar
Anyone who wants to have up-to-date athletic schedule information should go to eventlink.com and create a "community" account. You will be able to select your school and the calendars you want to subscribe to. This is the best way to get information on all last-minute changes to schedules at FC!
