Social Emotional Learning Coordinator
Mrs. Kim Britton
Message from Mrs. Britton:
My name is Kim Britton and I am the new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator for SEFSC. Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Our goal at SEFSC is to teach your entire student. Meaning we are not just concerned with academics and standards, but also social skills and emotional intelligence. We already have some great things happening in the corporation to support your student and your family such as the backpack program, Strengthening Families, the Sensory and Reset Rooms and Paths, brain breaks, restorative practices, and neuroscience training. We hope to expand those efforts and continue to find ways to meet the needs of our community. We hope to continue to build family and community partnerships in order to help reach and teach our students. Thank you for your continued support!
